I'm from Washington DC. i love to read, write, sing and learn new languages. I wanted to be a water ambassador because I care deeply about water and how it effects people. Growing up in DC, I've always been fascinated by the nearby rivers, creeks, and bays, and how water interacts with a city. Seeing the man-made world interact with water sources far older than our city and watching how our actions directly effect the water around us has given me a deeper insight into how humans interact with the natural world in both good and bad ways. A few months ago, there was a Interceptor collapse that released around 243 million gallons of untreated sewage directly into the river. Despite how catastrophic it was, many people were unaware of the collapse's true extent. When i told people about the true extent of the damage on the river, like the increased e coli, they were instantly concerned. That's when I knew I wanted to be an EarthEcho water ambassador, to help spread awareness about the rivers that keep our communities going so we can protect them.
