Welcome to World Water Day for Schools

Every March 22, classrooms around the world celebrate World Water Day — a global day of action focused on protecting water resources. Water connects us all. When students explore their local water resources - rivers, lakes, streams, ocean, and even storm drains - they begin to see how global water challenges start close to home. This guide gives you a simple, step-by-step way to help students move from learning to action.

Why Participate?

Through the EarthEcho Water Challenge, students will:

  • Check the health of a local body of water through water quality testing
  • Protect their water resource and watershed through stewardship action
  • Share real data and stories as part of a global movement

Hands-on water science builds scientific skills, environmental awareness, and student confidence — all while contributing meaningful data beyond the classroom.
