Growing up near the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the United States, Myla is driven by a desire to raise awareness about water quality and engage her community in water conservation efforts. She is an intern for her county’s Green New Deal internship and has lobbied for key legislation such as the EmPOWER Maryland Bill, a bill that focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and the Healthy Future Students and Earth Act, which provides grants for schools to adopt more plant-based meals. Outside of advocacy, she loves hiking, reading, and baking. Myla is incredibly excited to be a Water Ambassador and work with other ambassadors to protect the Earth and its several waterways!
