My name is Sidra Usman, and I am a high school sophomore from Plainsboro, New Jersey, with a strong interest in water quality and environmental science. Through my school's Science Olympiad team, I studied entomology and have seen how environmental factors like water quality directly affect insect habitats and the ecosystems that depend on them. I am developing a native rain garden project designed to reduce polluted stormwater runoff before it reaches my local canal, and I lead volunteer initiatives at my school, including food packaging and outreach efforts across New Jersey. Outside of academics, I am a varsity rower, and I enjoy cooking and staying involved in my community. I want to be a Water Challenge Ambassador to turn what I've learned about water quality into real, measurable action, and to help others in my community pay closer attention to the water systems they depend on every day.
