EarthEcho International invites youth ages 14-22 based in Italy, to join the growing community of EarthEcho Water Challenge Ambassadors! The Water Challenge Ambassador program equips youth with the tools and training to lead community science and watershed protection projects, utilizing the EarthEcho Water Challenge. Ambassadors collaborate and learn alongside their peers, conduct community water monitoring programs with local youth, and use their experiences to take direct action to protect local water resources.

Applications for the EarthEcho Water Challenge Ambassadors Italy cohort are open through November 24, 2025.


Program Requirements:

  • Who: Young people, ages 14-22 at the time of application, based in Italy from December 2025-April 2026 who are proficient in English (all meetings will be conducted in English).
  • When: The Ambassador cohort will meet virtually and be expected to conduct work in their local communities between December 2025-April 2026
  • DEADLINE: November 24, 2025

Ambassadors will receive a €350 stipend for their participation in the program.

As an Ambassador, you will:

  • Participate in an initial, virtual training to kick off your Ambassadorship.
  • Participate in twice monthly virtual meetings/training opportunities with fellow Ambassadors from December 2025-April 2026
  • Test the water quality of their local body of water twice a month (test kits and training provided by EarthEcho).
  • Upload all water quality data to www.monitorwater.org.
  • Organize at least 1 event or action in your community ranging from water quality testing, community presentations, or a clean up, that bring awareness to water quality.
  • Engage at least 100 people in your community by March 2026 through water quality monitoring, educational outreach, and/or watershed protection actions.
  • Collaborate with your fellow Ambassadors and the EarthEcho team on a regular basis, and share photos/highlights from program work.
  • Work and collaborate with a global community of young ocean advocates.
  • Understand that all of the responsibilities outlined above will result in you dedicating 2-4 hours a month to the work of the ambassadorship during your term.

Ambassadors will receive €350 in compensation for their work from December 2025-March 2026 upon successful completion of Ambassador milestones.
